More Details

In the heart of the Vallée de la Marne lies the charming village of Vandières, home to Champagne Copin-Cautel. Here, everything revolves around love, tradition, and the art of winemaking. Philippe Copin and Séverine Cautel have known each other since high school and have shared not only their lives but also their passion for champagne. What began as a childhood sweetheart has blossomed into a lifelong project – a champagne house where every bottle tells a piece of family history.

From the first vines Séverine's grandparents sold to Philippe's parents to raising their children, Quentin and Cassandre, Champagne Copin-Cautel exudes solidarity. The marriage of the Copin and Cautel families is literally and figuratively rooted in the fertile soil of Vandières.

A Vineyard with a Heart – Sustainability and Attention

The estate's 7.12 hectares of vineyards stretch across seven beautiful villages: Vandières, Venteuil, Reuil, Orquigny, Chouilly, Aÿ, and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Here, three grape varieties grow in perfect harmony: 53% Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, and 17% Chardonnay. Through conscious and sustainable practices, every hectare is certified with the Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3 label and Viticulture Durable en Champagne. Each plot contributes to the estate's rich history and future.

Assembled with Love – Craftsmanship and Collaboration

Collaborating with the Vandières cooperative gives Champagne Copin-Cautel access to modern winemaking techniques. Yet, they maintain firm control: from grape selection to blending the cuvées, the use of traditional foudres (large wooden barrels), and the manual dosing and disgorging of the bottles. This preserves the craftsmanship, with an eye for detail and a keen sense of taste.

Champagnes with a Story – Les Coudes sur le Zinc & Vieille Branche

Each champagne tells its own story. Les coudes sur le zinc is a lively, accessible brut that invites spontaneous drinks and convivial dinners. Vieille branche, a 2014 vintage, offers depth and elegance – the perfect companion for long dinners with loved ones. Two cuvées, each with its own character, but with the same soul: that of a family that lives to create and share memories.

A Personal Meeting – Not a Brand, but People

Champagne Copin-Cautel doesn't feel like a brand, but rather a warm encounter. Here, you're not a customer, but someone you know. They remember your name, your preferences, and perhaps even the moment you first spoke. Whether you're a wine lover, importer, or hospitality entrepreneur – anyone who resonates with their warm approach will instantly feel like they belong.

Because above all, they are collectors of moments – those small, precious memories that make champagne so much more than just a glass of bubbles: an experience that connects, surprises and stays with you.
